Last Thrusday I assited to a seminar at the ENSMP named "Intélligence Economique" which is the wrong french traduction of "Competitive Intelligence", that should be translated as "Renseignement Compétitif".

Anyway the talks where very interesting from lobby and influence techniques, information security topics and major economic scenario changes. I was introduced to the concept of "Hypercompetition" and to the need of France to participate into the American "Economic War".

In the photo you can see Didier Lucas (teacher at the School of Economic Warfare) talking about this topic, explaining about how the spirit has changed from "Win/Win" strategies to "I win, you lose" ones.

Some notorious phrases (translated):

Here is a little sample of my geekness: For those who do not have seen "Ghost in the Shell" but loved "The Matrix", here is a good reason to see it.

Also, going deeper into the net I found some Matrix comics online (legal). Nice lecture (I have not read them all yet, but they seem pretty cool).

Blog solution

The final solution was: double boot. So today I did a massive upload of photos (check mars and april). If anyone had doubts I posted "proofs of food" that show my capabilty to cook eatable and nutrivite meals. As you can see, I'm now a "domestic boy"; mind and body, house and job.

The big new is that I got internet at home. Also I installed Ubuntu on my laptop and started studying Nemerle.

As many people has already said Ubuntu is just great ! Is a real usable alternative for windows. I would say that the environment is now mature enough (I click to a link and hear the streaming, I add and erase applications easily, auto updates, I plug the usb camera and a download menu appears, etc...), but now the work is on the applications.

Why TortoiseSvn make svn easy for windows and there is no such thing for linux ? Why Picasa is great and makes F-spot look as a bad joke ? An more important: how I am supposed to post photos to this blog without Hello ?

By now I'm somewhat blocked, I just can not find a good way to manage, edit and post my photos under linux. Please be patient.

At the end of the dinner, Ubuntu was installed in my laptop.
